"At Children's Mercy, we're here to make it all better for kids and families. This honor reflects what's possible when talented people come together with a shared purpose and a relentless commitment to excellence. I'm grateful to every physician, nurse, researcher and team member who brings that commitment to life every day."

The annual rankings are designed to help families identify hospitals that excel in treating children with the most complex medical needs. U.S. News surveyed nearly 150 pediatric centers, gathering clinical and operational data. This data was then combined with results from a reputational survey in which board-certified pediatric specialists were asked where they would send the sickest children in their specialty.
