Registration is now open for the 9th Annual Girish Shirali Symposium on Cardiac Care, taking place Oct. 19-20, 2026, at the Big Slick Auditorium, Children’s Mercy Research Institute. The two-day educational event will bring together clinicians and nationally recognized guest faculty to explore the latest advances in pediatric and congenital cardiac care.

Named in honor of  Girish Shirali, MD, a pioneering pediatric cardiologist and beloved mentor, the symposium continues a tradition of fostering learning, collaboration and innovation among healthcare professionals dedicated to improving outcomes for children with heart disease.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from leading experts from across the country, engage in discussions on emerging clinical practices and research and connect with colleagues from a variety of disciplines involved in cardiovascular care. The program is designed to provide valuable insights for physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, trainees and other healthcare professionals who care for patients with congenital and acquired heart conditions.

In addition to a robust educational agenda, the symposium offers opportunities for networking and collaboration with peers who share a commitment to advancing pediatric cardiovascular medicine.
